Travelling

I would be one of those classical lottery winners who would use the increased resources for travelling. At the moment it seems that one have only two options. One have to either work and earn a lot which means at highest long weekends in some European city. The other option is work a little and have no money to go further than the closest historical city unless one wants to do the travelling by hitchiking.

I booked flying ticket to Brazil, Sao Paulo. Original plan was to spend there at least one month when going there. After planning the trip and fighting for resources (either money or time) for 3,5 years. I decided to book the ticket only for two weeks. I hope it still is way better than nothing.

One of my acquaintances visited Prague and I was honored to see her (+ 6 of her Finnish friends travelling in Czech Republic!!!) in Thursday when they joined to have beers with me and my friend. It was fun. Even though I did not know my acquaintance so well it was great to catch up. They have had intensive week in Brno, Prague and Vienna.

I do not know why but sometimes it seems more fun to see people one do not see every day. Probably this could be one of the major things in travelling. Since what could be more interesting that sit in local pubs somewhere far away just watching local people!

Burcak

Vaihteeksi suomeksi

Lyhyt tsekin kielen oppimäärä

piha= luomi
matka=äiti
makaamme=tehdä työtä
burcak=nuori viini

Jälkimmäinen onkin tämän kirjoituksen pääasiallinen aihe. Täällä on nimittäin tapana juoda syksyisin pienissä viinituvissa nuorta viiniä.

Sleeping in a tram

Every road goes to Rome, but my life everything relates to Roxette. Do you remember their hit Sleeping in my car? I tried sleeping in a tram last Friday night.

I had just wrote in my last entry of this blog how I am lazy to party and eager to sleep. Obviously at least the latter part is true since I was partying Friday. I was just supposed to visit my boss's housewarming party but I ended up nightclubbing until 5 am.

In Prague there are this great night tram system so one do not need cab that often. After night snack in McDonalds i took one to Andel. Unfortunately I fell asleep (I know what you are thinking and I have to admit that) before my home stop.

I was woken up by the driver in middle of panelaks (these beton buildings with full of happy people living in them) about 20-25 minutes I should have get off from the tram. I was a bit confused until I clear my head after sudden awakening and head of to stop waiting for the tram going back.

It was a blurry Friday.

Lazy to party, eager to sleep

I have to confess: in my many ways I feel that I am getting older. I do not complain. There is nothing wrong to be old.

It was so different to party even only 3-4 years ago. One recovered so fast for the long nights out. Now it is a different case. One feels that whole weekend is ruined for one hung over day.

Yesterday I was out much later (until 5.30 am) than I expected. I was somewhat able to get up right after ten this morning to be on sharp with agreed meeting with my friend on noon. But after coming back from sightseeing. I was totally ready for long long nap.

That is what I did. I slept more than 3 hours waking up at 7 pm feeling that I stay the evening at home. That is what I am doing now thinking -again- that next weekend I won't go out. Luckily there is always Sunday!

Music music

This sunny Sunday noon after cleaning my flat I decided to go to do some sports to close by ProFactory Fitness Club.

I have been confused in that ProFactory as well as my cozy Star Fitness. The latter is located close to my work in the middle of "panelaks" therefore it is also much more less posh as ProFactory. All in all neither those have any line what they are playing. In Finland it is usually much more simple if sweat smells in a fitness club then they are playing rock, sometimes even heavy rock when parfume smells and there is lack of free weights then they are playing Kiss FM.

Here they can play whatever. Today in ProFactory they started with Czech (heavy) rock music and then to my amazement they played Boten Anna. Yes in Swedish! After that they put DJ Bobo's greatest hits into a CD player. I must admit that I was almost laughing (because of the nostalgic reasons and thinking how seriously DJ Bobo have been doing his bit of art) most of the time when listening to DJ Bobo but it does not mean that I would like to listen that in the future.

Just to give you an example what I have to put through!

Na Valentince

Sunday evening I took a cab from the Prague airport to my home and pick my keys from my friend on my way home. Everytime I have been in a cab here I have been surprised how beautiful Prague is. You can see those old fancy houses all around the city not only in the main square.

Even though I have forgot each and every password I have at work to my email, to my phone etc. It has been rather nice return to work. Especially returning to Prague is a treat after having been in Finland where it has been gray and 16 degrees. Here it is 38 degrees and I love it.

Unfortunately this hot day I will spend after work in shops and bank to get things done and to have something to eat at home. Usually I do not like shopping but now it means starting living a life so it is ok. Home is home when there is pasta and washing detergent. Within this evening I will have my new home here in Na Valentince, Praha.

Last days in Finland

Do you remember in Star Trek the device that took them immeadiately to another place? They just went under those lamp-likes devices and gone they went. To own such a machine is my no. 1 wish.

From Monday I will start my studies of Prague. In the first months I will check what is behind the corner of streets close to my home. Maybe someday I have learned something about the nature of Prague.

Kaivopuisto

The day when that picture above was taken was sunny. I had plenty of reasons to be happy around so many friends that Sunday in Kaivopuisto Concert. Not to mention of sunshine. The older I have got the more sensitive I have got the changes in weather.

Grey and rainy days just drags me down. I become lazy when I see no blue sky. I become tired when I open my curtains in the morning just to realize that there is no sunshine to feed me with its yellow light.

Foreigners always wonder how we can cope with the midnight sun. I am always amazed how beautiful are those nights when sun set hardly sets. Some may say that it is hard to fell asleep when it is so light but for me there is no difficulties. It is just hard to stay awake during the dark winter!

Tour Nordic

After spending two weeks in Prague in the beginning of May. I headed for a business trip to Stockholm or actually Solna. There I spent 1 1/2 months and now I am in Finland. Having my first two weeks of paid holiday.

Unfortunately beginning of the life after studies demands plenty of money. Therefore I am working also during my holiday. I work here in Orimattila so at least I have chance to see my family and my friends in these neck of the woods.

In 20 minutes I am eating "muurinpohjalettuja" at my friends. Yummy!

Changes

I was supposed to fly today to Prague. My flight should have been 5 hours from now. I just got phone call that it has been postponed tomorrow. It is raining now outside so it would have perfect day to take off. I have everything packed though everything else unsolved like accommodation for first 3 weeks. Now I have one more day to organize them.

This situation starts to get a bit stressing. When decided something it then decided. when something changed then it means lot of re-organizing anyway. I am maybe more planning type of guy. No- change-would-do-good-mentality. At least when it comes to certain things.

I know that becoming months there are no time to breath. Because of the new job there will be a lot of trainings and travelling. Besides that there will be two weekends of celebrations next month because few of my friends are having weddings. That is something I pretty like especially if I have finally time to do some sports which I have been neglected for the whole year.

Mayday mayday

With this entrance I move on to write mainly in English since there are some people who have asked for that. And I know if my countrymen want to follow my blog they can easily do that in English as well. My parents would be the only ones who can not understand any English but even though I miss my mother's cookings I am not so sure if they are so interested to read about my daily life.

It seems that lately I have done most of my writings in public transportation. Now I am in the bus from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Mäntsälä.Today is one of the biggest celebration in Finland today since it is the Eve of Mayday aka Vappu. I should be drinking heavily but I decided to stay this evening home planning a bit, going to sauna, eating those famous cookings of my mother.

The way I contribute to Mayday celebration on my behalf is that tomorrow I may go and a have look the tradiotional Mayday markets. I know that the tradionality is turned into colourfull plastic toys and decorations but life ain't always beautiful. Who knows maybe plastic is the authenticity in 2007?

Sun is shining through the window and it is cosy to sit inside the bus. Outside it is a bit chilly but pretty normal weather for this time of the year in Finland. While it was summer in Slovakia it looks early spring here. Well it is only kuu kiurusta kesään or something like that so no worries summer will eventually arrive here.
